Working in financial aid, I cannot tell you how frustrating this entire loan debacle has been. Parents who can’t afford to send their kid to school now can’t hack the DOUBLED interest rate on loans. I, myself, am freaked the fuck out because now, my unsubsidized loan which has already accrued THIRTEEN HUNDRED DOLLARS OF INTEREST in three years of college is going to climb even higher??

Stop. Putting. Your. Future. Leaders. In. Inescapable. Debt. America.

Frustrated doesn’t even begin to describe how I have felt the past few years. We go to school so we can acquire the skills and knowledge to get a higher paying job but I feel all the excess money that little piece of paper gets us just goes right into loans for the rest of your life, making it so we’re really not making anything more than we would working at a grocery store the rest of our lives. Unless, of course you are doing something you absolutely love, and wake up each morning excited to work, then it’s totally worth it. So I see the point, but I am so afraid of going in the wrong direction. However, I am very very fortunate to be financially stable enough to be able to afford to change my mind here and there but that’s not the point! Ugh. I’ll stop before I wind up repeating myself over and over. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I’m so stuck.
